Today, Apple announced that in the first 28 days of sales, 1,000,000 iPads have been sold. It took the first generation iPhone 74 days to reach that milestone.
Steve Jobs first introduced the iPad on January 27, 2010. Described as "magical and revolutionary" the iPad has a large multitouch screen, web surfing that is "dramatically more interactive and intimate than on a computer," email that is "fun and easy," gaming, e-books, and more.
Apple sold 300,000 iPads on the first day of sales. Additionally, since the iPad introduction, iPad users have downloaded over 12 million apps and over 1.5 million e-books from Apple's new iBook Store.
